They are one million two hundred thousand Rotarians in all countries with popularly elected government. The organization is dedicated to understanding and universal concord, a movement to stimulate action and community ethics and professional responsibility and, above all, thousands of clubs that bring together people and families who share affinities and times of fellowship, professional development and humanitarian services.Because Rotary is home to over a million people in nearly two hundred countries and administrative regions with wide variety of public and private activities, not easy to give an exact definition that represents the vision of every club and every Rotarian, justcrease because the Rotary Club independence of each governance and renewal each year. The RotaryThe first Rotary Club was founded in Chicago in 1905, four citizens initiative coordinated by lawyer Paul Percy Harris and three friends, Sylvester Schiele, Gustavus Loehr and Hiram Shorey, with the aim of bringing together traders, professionals and other businessmen in a club where professional relationships could be developed into personal friendships. The Rotary name, which in English means "in rotation", arose from the fact that weekly meetings were held in the workplace associated with a different one each week.Today there are more than 34,000 Rotary clubs around the world. Of these, 2,700 are in Portuguese-speaking countries (PLOP), of which 2400 are in Brazil and about 200 in Portugal. The number of members of each club varies greatly. In the capital, some have over 200 members, while the minimum is 20 members per club. All clubs are necessarily affiliated to Rotary International (RI), a private non-profit with power normalizer. Note that the combination is club RIand not its members. There is no hierarchy between the clubs, all having the same rights and obligations. Generally, a club is formed from the efforts of another, who becomes his "sponsor club," because it presents this new club for inclusion in the RI.As in a large organization with global scope, all clubs are similar in early and everyone is unique in its operational activities. In general, the meetings coincide with meal times not to interfere with the professional activities of each partner. There is a standard script for the club meetings but each performs a little differently. There are clubs dominated the social life and companionship, and others where the main activity is the realization of projects of social promotion. As admission is by invitation, the clubs tend to acquire a personality that reflects the affinities of its members. The RotarianRotarians in Brazil, are professionals, business leaders, academics and civil servants, aged 25 years. In his living at the club, his family has an important role and it is common for children to participate, along with community youth, Rotaract, Interact and Rotarykids, according to age, organizations that propagate the concepts Rotary and develop between them and the taste SERVE practice as a means of self-realization and search for peace.Above all, the Rotarian is a person who understands the need, in fellowship, share resources to carry out humanitarian actions. For this reason, in English, these are two Rotarians by fellow, a word that descends from Norwegian felaga archaic, which means people who put their resources into a joint venture, while in Brazil uses the term companion.Rotary Personalities Albert Sabin, U.S. Ron Hubbard, General Douglas MacArthur Rhodesia, the United States Walt Disney, United States Soleiman Frangieh, Lebanon Konosuke Matsushita, Japan Ernest Medina, My Lai, Vietnam Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, Netherlands Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister, Birmingham, UKHassan II, Morocco Rainier III, Monaco, Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Brazil Ermírio Antonio de Moraes, Brazil Norberto Odebrecht, Brazil Viriato Paulo da Costa, Brazil Antonio Lomanto Jr., Bill Gates Brazil, USA Fernando Alves da Silva, PortugalThe rotarianismo in the community and the worldRotary works at three different levels, interconnected and equally important: "Club", and RI District. At club level are held family activities, planning and fundraising and social projects (called the humanitarian Englishness) in the city.Clubs are grouped into districts, geographically distributed so as to have a minimum of 1000 Rotarians each. In Brazil there are 38 districts and two in Portugal. Each district is administered by a district governor for a term of one year. The role of governor is to stimulate interaction and work of the clubs. The district annual meetings to promote training, recycling information and social reconciliation. The set of over 500 Rotary districts worldwide as Rotary International, the coordinating body and normalizing clubs. The RI is responsible for the mechanisms that allow, among other things, the fight against polio and exchange programs for students.Rotary in BahiaDistrict 4550 of Rotary International, which covers part of the state of Bahia under the parallel which passes through Salvador, has 50 clubs and has an action of the most praised of the Northeast. Rotary District 4550 brings together over 5000 people, involving Rotarians, spouses and children. Considering their work teams and employees, certainly Rotarians Bahia coordinate more than 200,000 employees. All Rotarians and their families as volunteers, unpaid, and defray the activities of clubs as well as donating to scholarships, campaigns againstdrugs, public libraries and the Global Fund to eradicate polio worldwide. If the hours were counted professionals dedicated to humanitarian service by Rotarians in this district, including their spouses and family, would get outside grants and contributions, a value exceeding U.S. $ 18.6 million per year. Amplifying this action throughout the world is that it turns out to be the Rotary's most significant non-governmental organization in the world today, dedicated to Peace, conflict resolution, scholarships, international youth exchanges, particularly his campaign to eradicate Polio in World. Well recognized worldwide, Rotary, along with the International Red Cross, NGOs are the ones with the accent on the United Nations General Assembly. They are remarkable for, among others, the services provided by the Rotarians of Bahia in the fields of education and health, where both public and unpaid. The first Rotary Club was founded in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro on January 29, 1921. Then Recife. In Bahia Rotary was founded on February 23, 1933, and since 79 years of existence and relevant services of public interest and provided relief to our community and the State of Bahia.Every year Rotarians meet with leaders of the various communities around the world in their District Conferences. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?).Parallel to the Conference District Rotarians are interdependencies with leaders of Brazil and the world, Rotarians are or not. There is also a fair Rotary clubs, each club has its achievements and its sponsors. ROTARY A YOUNG ENTITY WITH 107 YEARS OF AGE
Dear Friends in Rotary
Greetings.,
One million two hundred thousand of us and twice as many family and friends of ours have motivations to celebrate today the anniversary of 107 years of Rotary International, and the list of valuable contributions for peace, human health and poverty alleviation and better lives to all would not fit in the memory of this computer, but it can be felt by all of us with pride: Rotarians are worthy people and the World needs us and our actions.
We celebrate Rotary every day, but early today our fellows of the Rotary Global History Fellowship Association suggested to me doing something special.
I did open my Rotary Diary Armed and started writing something to reflect and possibly share with
friends about the Public Image of Rotary, something so fashionable, nowadays.
The 107th Anniversary of Rotary is not only ta set of numbers it is a history of many serving as a global entity.
It is greatly the anniversary of Rotarians, who take turns one generation to another, receiving their calling and spreading their ideal of service before self, solid principles and values, and putting them into practice under strictly voluntary initiatives and charities. The majority of times we hot the targets. Some other times we learn from erring and try again and again. A
And here we are confident towards Rotarians living through 107 more years in a world of change, a challenge to all of us, to REACH WITHIN AND EMBRACE THE WORLD, continuing on to PEACE THROUGH SERVICE, all of them nice motivational corollaries of SERVICE BEFORE SELF.
On our routes for being of service, it is important that we do not try to do for mankind the things it can do for itself, yet that we try to do things that are not done, or things that should be done better and the lack of participation or quality imply bad social performances in priority areas.
The adequate attitude is that of the educator who also educates himself or herself together: there si no better way for learning than working and making something happen, together.
The making public of our plans and intents is then crucial, before the process is resumed, so that partners and beneficiaries know what it is up to them to engage themselves. During the actions, publicizing is a must, so that more and more partners and beneficiaries come forward and cooperate, also with suggestions to correct
our errors, wrong directives or methods. Likewise, after the action is done and impacts promoted, publicizing Rotarians’ actions and sometimes celebrating them, is also important for the public image we want to have as
change agents, who develop, in a broader sense, life with sustainability. Hence, after disclosure will enable the transparent evaluation of impacts, and it often implies more commitments and challenges to Rotarians. Publicizing is thus intended to widen our scopes, never to vainglories from our good doings.
War, maladies, hunger, illiteracy, misery make the social debt of civilization very large, and the more Rotarians do for alleviating the balance is still beyond our reach, alone.
Writing for the public is a daring and risky project. Writing for Rotarian friends a safer process. Congratulations to all of us for the 107 years. It is a motive of pride to be a Rotarian. It is a duty to say to all people how good it is to serve and have so many friends all over.
On risk, let me quote the words of a Rotarian to be writer Sebastião Nery, born in Jaguaquara, Bahia: “I was quite young when I learned that happiness and beauty are daughters of risk. When one leads the way, one risks finding wild bests ahead. But it is the leader`s step that will motivate a colorful ballet of butterflies.”
Tomorrow we will meet in Brasilia in the House of the Senate of Brazil, for a tribute to the one million and two hundred thousand Rotarians who think the world can be made better to all.
Thanks
Durval and Teresa

SKILLED AND INNOVATIVE ROTARIANS WILL BE SUSTAINABLE AND GROW
GLOBALIZATION, RADICAL AND CONSTANT CHANGES AND DISCONTINUITIES DERIVED
SKILLED AND INNOVATIVE ROTARIANS WILL BE SUSTAINABLE AND GROW...
The world today is of abrupt and continuous CHANGE.
According to Peter Drucker changes of this kind can not be managed or controlled.
It is necessary to LEAD CHANGES, according to this guru of many a corporation CEO. In order to lead changes in the knowledge economy, we need continuous training, innovation and motivation because without innovation changes will not be led and sustainability of organizations can have detrimental discontinuities.
EMPOWERING is therefore necessary.
March and April will be for our District 4550 months dedicated to capacity building and good governance transition, both for our Rotary Clubs and for the District leadership.
In parallel, our Board decided training to be the most effective way to motivate, fellowship and networking and thus to integrate and retain the new members who join us each day.

Was conducted in conjunction with the meeting of the College of Governors in Guanambi, and hosts Rotarians led by Ariston Jr, Therese and EGD Iracy Santos (D4550) - a masterpiece. Were guest speakers Instructor District Valdomiro Jr. who spoke on the topic of Administrative and Financial Transparency Requiring management capability, and the internet “Rotary Manager” much like its American counter part of California provides this. About Rotary Development, once again spoke to us PDG Julio Lossio (D4490), and on Future Vision Rotary Foundation and ABTRF lectured PDG Carlos Magalhães (D4390).
All Governors were awarded the title of Honorary Members of RC Guanambi, approved by its Board. There was a special ceremony in a festive dinner, a visit to the Rotary iTotem and ,on Sunday, visitors and Rotarians were welcomed to the farm of PDG Iracy Santos and his wife Teresa’s, for fellowship gatherings and a Brazilian barbecue with live music. Attended by the PDGs Iracy Santos and spouse Threesinha, Valdomiro Oliveira Jr and spouse Jovania, Jose Antonio Cunha, Luiz Coelho, and spouse Marilia Paulo Dacach and spouse Ana, Carlos Magalhaes, Julio Lossio, DG4550 Durval Olivieri and the DGN Ricardo Becker and his spouse Lilia Becker and Assistant Governor, Polybio Lago and spouse and Marcos Menezes.
